Power Auras: My Settings

These are my settings for power auras, if you're interested in copying :) There are a couple other auras I've been playing with, but these are the ones that I can confirm will work well. I have also added "timers" to many of these, and will edit in those settings when I get a chance! Other, unlisted Power Auras I use include several for my rogue: evasion and cloak of shadows.

NOTE: to import these settings, click on the "Import String" button in your /powa menu, and paste in the text from the import string boxes below.

You may need to fix the placement of your text timers, however.


General:

Druid:



Low Health -


The red brackets in the screenshot are my low health warning; the purple glow (conveniently aligned with my IceHUD mana bar) is my low mana warning.

Low Mana -

The purple light highlighting my mana bar on IceHUD when I'm less than 75% mana. Innervate returns 20%, so I want to use it early and often! Move it around or change the graphic as you wish.

Aggro -

Shows if I have aggro on something! I am looking for a way for aggro to NOT pop up if I am in bear form: if you have an idea on how to do this, please let me know :)

Clearcasting buff -

Shows if OoC has procced!

This aura is depricated as the game has a built-in alert for it, but if you like this version, it is still available for import here.

Nature's Grace buff -

A great way to easily see if Nature's Grace has procced, and thus you have a faster GCD/spellcasting.

Eclipse buff -

The following TWO auras are in the same place and have the same graphic, but the "you want to cast wrath now" proc is an orange color, and the "you want to cast starfire now" proc is a violet blue color. I like it as a brighter way of noting whether or not eclipse is active on me, against the eclipse internal cooldown bar from SquawknAwe.

Faerie Fire debuff -

This will show Faerie Fire on my target, be it feral or "caster" version, cast by any druid.

Survival Instincts -

A Survival Instincts-is-active alert for myself, with a timer until it wears off.

Berserk -

A Berserk-is-active alert for myself, with a timer until it wears off. This will *not* light up Berserking procs off of a weapon, if you run with that enchant: I have updated the aura to use the spell ID rather than the buff name.

If you'd like to have a seperate buff timer for your berserking enchant proc, use the spell ID [59620].

Mangle/Trauma -

An alert that tells me if mangle or trauma is up on my current target. This is useful for those times that you are running with someone else who will be your Mangle-Bot, as a way to monitor that the buff you want is actually present. It uses the spell ID for Trauma to ensure that the shadow priest Mind Trauma debuff will not give you a false positive on this aura.

I've never been a fan of HUDs but that clearcasting would be VERY handy in some situations. I tend to become blind to scrolling text announcements after a while - I react much better to colour changes.

And the Vezax debuffs are a fantastic idea!

Power Auras isn't really a HUD... it's just a graphical alert system, customizable to how you'd like the buffs/debuffs/spell alerts to warn you visually (and, if you like, audibly!). The HUD on the screen is a separate mod, IceHUD, and the only time it's involved with my power auras is when I overlaid the low-mana warning over the mana bar :)

There are a lot of different graphics and styles you can choose for Power Auras, so if you want to avoid a "HUD style" graphic, you can do so!

Hi !

I use Power Auras a lot with my hunter and with my druid.

I discovered optional file to this addon that enable to choose if you want an aura to show when you are in one spec or another. I find it very useful with my little druid because I use to farm in balance and do instances in resto, and I don't want my balance auras (telling me some dots are missing) to show up in resto.

Hmm thanks for linking this, I may look into using it myself :)

I've been using Debuff Filter (DBF) to watch IS/MF/Earth&Moon/Misery timers, though, which I think I prefer over Power Auras for actual DoT timers. DBF shows the time remaining before the dot wears off.

I should add a Power Auras alert for when I have Starfall running, though. It'd be a good alert against aggroing things with the aoe raining around my ears!

Not sure if you've stumbled on this or not, but for the aggro alert you should be able to use a stance filter to not display when in bear form.

Not at home to play with this, but you may need another disabled aura that essentially just checks the stance condition, and link your aggro alert to that aura ID.

Updated; recent Power Auras update had messed up a bunch of timer positions. I also added my raid debuff monitors for ICC/Halion :)

This is a bug in Power Auras, I have added so many new settings it has overflowed the paste buffer. Fix incoming soon (V3.0.0M). Sorry about that!

these are some really great looking auras you've come up with. I used a leaf graphic similar to your nature's swiftness aura for wild growth, cranked up the size, and stuck it behind grid so I'd be sure to get it off as soon as it comes up. i gotta say, the one you've created for beserk might be just about my favorite thing in the game at the moment. Thanks!
